Dave Holst serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer (CFO/CAO) for NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS). With more than 25 years of dedicated service to NOAA, he provides executive leadership in budget formulation and execution, as well as the development and implementation of administrative policies essential to advancing the NESDIS mission.
Prior to his current role, Dave served for nine years as the CFO/CAO for NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), overseeing financial and administrative operations. His extensive career also includes 15 years with the National Ocean Service (NOS) in a variety of financial and management roles.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from St. Olaf College and a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy from Virginia Tech.
