Scott Hausman

Scott is currently the Acting Deputy Director of the NESDIS Office of Common Services (OCS). In his permanent role, he serves as Chief of the Mission Support Division at NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) in Asheville, North Carolina, where he leads IT, facilities, and logistics teams supporting NCEI’s mission. He also serves as program manager for NCEI’s transition to the NESDIS Common Cloud Framework (NCCF).

Over more than 15 years at NOAA, Scott has held several leadership roles, including Acting Director and Deputy Director of the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC); Chief of NCEI’s Data Stewardship Division; and Acting Director of the Global Systems Division at the Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL) in Boulder, Colorado. Before joining NOAA, he served 24 years in the U.S. Air Force, culminating in command of the 14th Weather Squadron in Asheville, which provides climatological support to the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and other federal agencies. 

Scott holds a B.S. in Meteorology from Texas A&M University, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Atmospheric Sciences from Colorado State University.
