NOAA GOES East satellite's Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) viewed Tropical Storm Alberto, while the GOES Lightning Mapper (GLM) captured the lightning during landfall. GLM data helps give forecasters an indication of when a storm is forming, intensifying and becoming more dangerous.
